The Grands Terroirs
Antarès - Lirac
Antarès is a selection of vines located on hillsides facing North, at the Western end of the Lirac appellation, at an altitude of 160m. The soils are deep sands and sandstones.
Grenache 60% and Mourvèdre 40%. The vines are 50 years old.
Winemaking and Ageing
The harvest is fully destemmed. Each variety is vinified separately using natural yeasts. The Grenache is aged in cement vats, the Mourvèdre in od French oak demi-muids for 12 months.
Why "Antarès" ?
Made of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre, the 2014 Lirac Antarès possesses the forward, silky style of the estate (and vintage) as well as lots of strawberry, black raspberries, pine and a hint of white pepper. It’ s a smokin’good 2014 to drink over the coming 4-5 years
